Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre
Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre
There’s more to learning outside the classroom than just monkey-ing around! At Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre, our dedicated education team can lead your class in a curriculum-focused workshop, or talk. We are proud to offer sessions suitable for all ages, whether you would like to learn more about Monkey World’s rescue and rehabilitation operation or to discover how woolly monkeys use their tails! With our fantastic education team, 250 primates, 65 acres, and three play areas, Monkey World is the perfect venue for school trips.
The educational team at Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre can work with you to plan a session that covers endangered primates, rainforests and more to tie into your current lesson plans. These can be delivered in the onsite classrooms or during a walk around the park.
Around the park, visitors can also enjoy the daily Keeper Q&As, and older children may be encouraged to follow the self-guided audio tour, which is discounted for school groups.
In addition to general science and geography lessons, students can use their trip to cover citizenship topics through environment discussion or even English and art through projects done after their trip. Some examples might include writing stories about the lives of the animals they met at the primate sanctuary or an art project based on what they saw at the park.
The lesson plans and posters provided by the centre cover topics such as the environmental impacts of using palm oil and the negative aspects of the primate pet trade. These can be incorporated into persuasive essays or science lessons on ecology.
