Bristol Museum & Art Gallery delivers inspiring educational programmes to meet the needs of various groups including; primary and secondary school groups; Home Educating families; adult learners; group travel organisers; overseas students and EFL groups.
Take time to study spectacular art, discover the dinosaur that once roamed Bristol, see original Banksy works, find out fascinating facts about fossils, get up close to Egyptian mummies, handle objects from ancient Greece and immerse yourself in natural history. Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is home to world class collections and local history, just waiting for you to explore! Temporary exhibitions and special events are also held throughout the year. 2023 is the 200th anniversary of the forerunner of Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, and exhibitions and events will run throughout the year to celebrate, with accompanying learning events.
School workshops offer interactive learning experiences. Children step out of the classroom and back into the past as they handle real museum objects, meet experts, participate in role play and storytelling, and carry out hands-on activities designed with age and learning needs in mind. From ‘behind the scenes tours’ and ‘meet the curator’ experiences to special gallery talks and reserved tables in the café – we will do our best to tailor the offer to meet your needs.

Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is FREE to visit. Any group of 10 or more people must book in advance.
School workshops range from £3-£6 per child depending on length of session and resources required. Accompanying adults are free. Most school workshops recommend a ratio of 1 adult for every 6 children.
