Beaulieu
Beaulieu
Stimulating, informative and fun – Beaulieu is one of the UK’s leading visitor attractions providing a fascinating destination for educational visits.
A range of curriculum-linked workshops covering 800 years of history, maths, science and technology are on offer at Beaulieu, admission to which includes:
– The National Motor Museum showcases the earliest examples of motoring through to classic cars of recent decades and the famous land speed record breaking vehicles.
– A Cistercian Abbey founded in 1204 and largely demolished during the Dissolution. The Domus survives and provides an ideal base for Medieval and Tudor study days.
– Palace House, significantly renovated in Victorian times has been owned by Lord Montagu’s ancestors since the Dissolution of the Abbey in 1538.
– Secret Army Exhibition: Beaulieu’s top secret role in World War Two is now revealed. Spies, evacuees, blackout, war-time motoring and rationing are just a few of the topics covered in this programme.
Plus, Education visits and workshops are available at Beaulieu’s sister attraction Buckler’s Hard – the New Forest village that built ships for Nelson’s Navy.
