With a range of classroom-based and self-led activities available, the National Memorial Arboretum’s onsite Learning Team is experienced in supporting cross-curricular learning suitable for Key Stages 1-4. Using the natural landscape as inspiration for the series of workshops and classes available, the Arboretum is a perfect choice for teachers looking for memorable student visits for History, Citizenship, English, and Geography.
The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire is the UK’s year-round centre for Remembrance and home to over 400 significant memorials including the iconic Armed Forces Memorial.
Surrounded by some 25,000 trees, the memorials provide a rich tapestry of stories of heroism, tenacity, teamwork and dedication. The Arboretum has successfully developed its learning programme over the last few years and now welcomes around 16,000 students each year as well as professional teaching staff looking for engaging CPD sessions.
The Arboretum’s learning team has ensured both the National Curriculum and Ofsted Education Inspection Framework are central to the content delivered.
