The Auckland Project
The Auckland Project
The Auckland Project offers creative and immersive workshops and educational visits for Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools across our unique range of visitor attractions, centred around Auckland Castle.
Sessions are based on a multisensory, object-based approach and can be adapted to meet the needs of students and teachers, including students with SEND.
At The Auckland Project, we offer engaging object-based school workshops and visits for students from EYFS – KS5, across all of our sites and visitor attractions, including:
- Auckland Palace and Gardens
- Faith Museum
- Auckland Tower
- Mining Art Gallery
- Spanish Gallery
- Binchester Hall Farm
All of our taught workshops are linked to the National Curriculum, local syllabuses or children’s programmes of study and cover a variety of subject areas, including Art, History, RE and MFL among others. Teachers can choose pre-planned sessions from our current workshop list, or work with us to develop a session or visit bespoke to their needs.
We can also offer schools a variety of other opportunities linked to our sites, stories and collections, via our feeder schools programme. These include:
- Outreach sessions
- Topic-focused tours
- Whole year group visits
- Enrichment programmes
- Teacher-led visits
- Homework Clubs
- CPD sessions and tailor-made advice and support for teachers
