Day 1

10:00 pm – Arrival by Coach

Arrive at the accommodation option of your choice, such as YHA York or Safestay York.

10:45 AM – 12:30 PM: York Dungeon

For some thrilling fun, a visit to York Dungeon is a must. Students can immerse themselves in interactive shows and spine-chilling tales of York’s darker history. It’s an entertaining and educational experience that will leave them with lasting memories.

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Jorvik Viking Centre

The journey begins at the Jorvik Viking Centre, where students can immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and even smells of Viking-era York. From reconstructed Viking streets to interactive exhibits, they will gain a fascinating insight into this ancient civilization.

3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: York Minster

A visit to York Minster, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe, is a must. Students can marvel at the stunning architecture, explore its magnificent stained glass windows, and learn about the historical significance of this iconic landmark.

5:15 PM – 6:30 PM: The Shambles

6:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Evening Meal

Once you’ve finished exploring the Shambles and done some light shopping, it’s time to head back to your accommodation or to a local restaurant of your choosing for your evening meal. 

Day 2

7:30 AM – 8:30 AM: Breakfast at the accommodation

A nice and early start for breakfast to give you plenty of time to organise the kids and get them ready for their first activity of the day. 

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: DIG An Archaeological Adventure

Begin your day with an exciting archaeological adventure at DIG. Students can become budding archaeologists as they uncover and examine artifacts from different time periods. Participate in hands-on activities, excavate replica archaeological sites, and discover the stories of York’s past. This interactive experience brings history to life and encourages students to think like archaeologists.

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: York Chocolate Story

Delve into the delicious world of chocolate at York Chocolate Story. Students will discover the city’s rich chocolate-making heritage, get hands-on experience with chocolate-making techniques, and even indulge in some tasty treats along the way.

1:30 PM – 3:30 PM: City Cruises York

Embark on a scenic river cruise with City Cruises York. Drift along the River Ouse and enjoy picturesque views of the city’s landmarks, including York Minster and the medieval city walls. Evening

6:30 PM – 7:30 PM Evening Meal at Accommodation

Return to your accommodation for your evening meal. Afterwards, spend the rest of the evening giving the kids some free time to rest and unwind after a long day.

7:30 PM –  Original Ghost Walk of York Tour

As night falls, brace yourselves for a thrilling and spooky adventure on the Original Ghost Walk of York Tour. Led by an experienced guide, students will explore the city’s dark alleyways and hear spine-chilling tales of ghosts, legends, and mysteries. This eerie experience will spark their imagination and provide a unique perspective on York’s history.

Day 3

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: National Railway Museum

All aboard! At the National Railway Museum, students can explore the fascinating world of trains. From vintage locomotives to interactive displays, they’ll learn about the history and development of rail travel in an engaging and interactive way.

11:30 AM – 2:00 PM: Askham Bryan Wildlife Park

Conclude your trip with a visit to Askham Bryan Wildlife Park, a haven for animal lovers. Encounter a variety of wildlife, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and more. 2:30 PM: Departure by Coach
