What We Offer Visiting Schools:

Stubbers Adventure Centre offers residential school trips for groups looking to combine overnight accommodation with outdoor learning and adventure activities in one location.

Residential programmes are available for stays ranging from two-night breaks to longer Monday-to-Friday visits. Groups can choose from a range of accommodation options, including bunkhouse tents, safari tents and a residential building, with catering, toilet, shower and changing facilities available on site.
The centre can accommodate residential groups of approximately 25 to 200 students, making it suitable for both smaller groups and larger year-group visits.

Why Choose Us for an Educational Visit:

Staying on site allows students to experience much more of Stubbers than is possible during a day visit.

Depending on the length of stay, residential groups can take part in between 6 and 16 activity sessions across land, water, tower and target activities. This gives students time to build confidence, communication, teamwork and resilience throughout the programme.

Having accommodation, catering and activities in one location can also make residential planning simpler for schools and reduce the need for daily travel between venues.

Programmes can be tailored according to the length of the stay and the needs of the group.

Schools can also use Stubbers for revision weekends or programmes combining study time with outdoor activities.

Activities During a Residential Stay

With around 35 activities available across land, air and water, residential groups can take part in a varied programme throughout their stay.

Activities are led by trained instructors and are designed to support confidence, communication, teamwork and resilience.

Stubbers can also support programmes linked to outdoor qualifications, including assessment criteria for activities such as GCSE Climbing.

Catering

In-house catering is available for residential groups, allowing meals to be incorporated into the programme.

Schools should confirm dietary requirements and catering arrangements directly with the centre when booking.

Safety and Accreditation

Stubbers holds the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge and is inspected annually by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA).

The centre also holds the Adventuremark Certificate for the safe delivery of adventurous activities. Risk assessments and relevant health and safety documentation are available through Stubbers.

A Designated Safeguarding Lead is in place and safeguarding procedures are regularly reviewed.

Group Sizes Catered For:

Residential groups of approximately 25 to 200 students can be accommodated, subject to availability.

For schools interested in a day visit rather than an overnight stay, Stubbers can also accommodate day groups separately.

Risk Assessment:

Stubbers is inspected by AALA (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority) on a yearly basis who assess the safety of our activity delivery. We have robust in house risk assessments which are available to view on our website. We have been awarded the Adventuremark Certificate for safe delivery of adventurous activities. Pricing Information:

Residential visits currently start from £266 per person, depending on the programme and length of stay.

School groups receive one free leader place for every 10 participants. Seasonal offers may also be available during the winter period.

Accommodation and Facilities:

• the residential building

On-site facilities include catering, toilets, showers, changing facilities and a coffee shop.

Many of the centre’s activities can also be adapted to support students with additional accessibility requirements. Schools should discuss individual needs with Stubbers before their visit so that suitable arrangements can be made.

Opening Hours:

Open 9am-6pm daily for general visitors.

School residentials and day visits available year round with exception of Winter closure period from mid-December to mid-January.
