Hilltop Outdoor Activity Centre is a friendly, family-run outdoor education centre offering a wide range of adventure activities, field studies, and team-building challenges designed to support learning and personal development for primary-aged children.
Set within 30 acres of enclosed woodland on the North Norfolk Coast, Hilltop provides a safe and inspiring environment for outdoor learning and residential school visits. The centre features purpose-built activity areas designed specifically for school groups, supporting both adventure-based learning and curriculum-linked education.
With over 30 years of experience delivering primary school residential visits, Hilltop combines outdoor adventure, teamwork and curriculum-based learning in a supportive and well-supervised setting. Pupils are encouraged to build confidence, resilience, communication skills and independence through hands-on experiences in a real-world environment.

Hilltop Outdoor Activity Centre has over 30 years’ experience delivering outdoor education programmes for primary schools, providing safe, structured and engaging residential visits for thousands of pupils.
Group Sizes Catered For:
Hilltop can accommodate both single-class and multi-class residential groups.
When Woodland Lodge and Seaview House are booked together, the centre can host up to 160 children, making it suitable for a wide range of primary school residential visits.

A wide range of outdoor adventure activities are available at Hilltop, all led by experienced and qualified instructors and fully risk-assessed to ensure pupil safety and enjoyment.

In addition to adventure activities, Hilltop offers carefully structured field studies sessions designed to support primary school learning across science, geography and environmental education.

These sessions provide pupils with valuable first-hand learning experiences, allowing them to explore real environments and observe natural processes in action.
Through practical investigation, data collection and guided discussion, children develop key scientific enquiry skills such as observation, classification, questioning and recording findings. Studying coastal and woodland environments helps pupils deepen their understanding of habitats, life cycles, sustainability and the impact of human activity on the natural world.

Risk Assessment:
All activities are fully risk-assessed and delivered by experienced, qualified instructors.
Clear safety procedures, regular equipment checks and close supervision ensure pupil safety at all times. Schools are provided with supporting risk assessment information in advance of visits.

Hilltop’s experienced staff team supports schools with planning, bookings and programme design. Staff have extensive experience delivering outdoor education and working with primary-aged children.
