What We Offer Visiting Schools:

Purple Tours offers engaging, bespoke educational sightseeing tours for visiting schools across Liverpool and the North West, including Chester, North Wales and the Peak District. Led by a team of expert guides, including education professionals, our tours are designed for students of all ages and can be tailored to support syllabus topics, curriculum links , wider learning themes or a for a fun end of term trip top.

Working with trusted local partners where appropriate, we create carefully planned itineraries that make every visit interesting, informative and memorable.

Our experiences bring history, heritage and culture to life through fascinating stories, hidden gems, surprising facts and interactive opportunities for students to ask questions, take part in discussions and get actively involved.

We also provide learning materials to support the visit, helping teachers prepare students beforehand and extend learning afterwards.

Selected language services are available for international school groups, helping more students access, understand and enjoy the experience. We offer flexible start times and locations to best fit each group’s plans, and our guides can also join groups on their own transport to lead a tour from the vehicle.

Every stop is designed to spark curiosity, encourage conversation and make learning fun, meaningful and memorable.

Subjects and Topics Covered:

We offer a bespoke service to tailor our tours to fit with specific learning themes or current syllabus from junior to university students- typically this will cover History, Heritage or Culture. Recent themes have also included contrasting Urban and Rural Areas, The Beatles as part of Popular Music and Jazz the transatlantic slave trade and its abolition, Contrasting Urban and Rural Areas, The Beatles as part of Popular Music and Jazz.

Group Sizes Catered For:

All visiting group sizes- no minimum and for larger groups we then split into smaller groups per guide. For group size per guide- based on risk assessments and type of tour including number of adults/students per group.

Itineraries, Resources, and Workshops:

We work with the client to create a bespoke tour and experience, starting with the visit and learning objectives and may include working with local trusted partners. The itinerary may include a walking tour or our guide joining the clients own transport to lead a tour on a vehicle. With our public music licence we include other resources such as quizzes to create a memorable learning experience.

Risk Assessment:

We work with an independent Health and Safety expert company called Citation to support our safe systems of work. Risk assessment in place and reviewed annually or with any specifically new activities. DBS checks in place along with guides have first aid training.
