The MAD Museum

The MAD Museum
What We Offer Visiting Schools:
A fun, hands-on visit where pupils are encouraged to explore, experiment and discover how things work. They can see forces, gravity, magnets, gears and mechanisms in action through our interactive exhibits and mechanical art. By combining science, technology, engineering, art and maths (STEAM), the museum shows how creativity and engineering work together, while giving pupils the freedom to learn through play and exploration..
Why Choose Us for an Educational Visit:
The MAD Museum gives pupils the chance to learn by doing. Rather than simply looking at exhibits, they can interact with them, work out what makes them move and discover the ideas behind them. It’s an unusual mix of art, design and engineering that makes learning fun and keeps pupils interested from start to finish.
Subjects and Topics Covered:
Art, Design Technology, Engineering, English, Maths, Science – Physics
Group Sizes Catered For:
Up to 35 pupils during a single visit. Larger groups can be accommodated by splitting the visits over the course of the day.
Itineraries, Resources, and Workshops:
We offer activity packs for school groups, designed to help students engage with the exhibits and explore the science, engineering, art and design behind them. The activities can be completed during the visit, with additional resources available to continue the learning back in the classroom afterwards.
Risk Assessment:
The museum carries out regular risk assessments covering our premises, exhibits and visitor areas. A copy of our general Risk Assessment is available to help schools and organised groups plan their visit.
