Nature Tots at Trentham Monkey Forest

Introduce little ones to the wonders of nature with Nature Tots at Trentham Monkey Forest, a series of fun, hands-on wildlife activities for children aged 18 months to five years, run in partnership with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.

Taking place in the beautiful surroundings of Trentham Monkey Forest in Staffordshire, Nature Tots is an indoor and outdoor parent and toddler group designed to encourage young children to explore, discover and connect with the natural world.

Each session features a different nature-inspired theme, with a mixture of crafts, trails, games and outdoor activities. From discovering woodland creatures and investigating animal habitats to exploring seasonal changes, children can learn about nature through play.

Nature Tots activities

Sessions offer a variety of experiences designed to spark curiosity and encourage young children to engage with their surroundings.

Activities vary each week and include wildlife discovery, seasonal crafts, nature trails, storytelling and outdoor games.

The programme provides opportunities for early learning through exploration, creativity and hands-on experiences in a natural environment.

Upcoming sessions

The final two sessions of the 2026 programme are:

• Wednesday 14 October – Bats & Owls: Discover the fascinating creatures that come out at night.
• Wednesday 21 October – Halloween: Enjoy spooky-themed activities and games to celebrate Halloween.

Both sessions run from 10:30am to 12pm, with participants meeting at the Monkey Forest Tipi.

Tickets and booking

Tickets cost £10 for one child and one accompanying adult or carer, with additional adult or child tickets available for £8 each.

Entry to Trentham Monkey Forest is included, offering an opportunity to explore the attraction as part of the visit.

Children must be accompanied by at least one adult. Activities take place in all weather conditions, so suitable outdoor clothing is recommended.

Advance booking is required. Tickets are non-refundable and booking dates cannot be changed.
