Arrive at your accommodation in Edinburgh last afternoon where there is time to sort out rooms before dinner and a briefing on the week ahead.
Day 2
Morning visit to Edinburgh Castle which has stunning views across the city. After a tour of the castle and lunch, walk to Camera Obscura and World of Illusions. From inside the mysterious rooftop chamber, you will see live moving images of Edinburgh and can play with them using the array of mirrors and lenses.
Then walk to Real Mary King’s Close Edinburgh’s deepest secret: a warren of hidden ‘closes’ where real people lived, worked and died. After an early dinner, we continue learning about Edinburgh’s colourful past by joining a ghost walk around the city.
Day 3
Step aboard the Queen’s former floating Palace HMS Britannia. Britannia has consistently been rated Scotland’s Best Attraction and is one of the most famous ships in the world.
You will have access to the Royal Apartments, Engine Room and Crew’s Quarters. It is an interesting and informative tour and a real insight into the Royal Family.
Leith, where Britannia is situated is an interesting area to explore before heading back into the city with independent cafes and interesting shops. In the afternoon work off some energy by climbing King Arthur’s Seat for magical views of Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth before descending and walking back to our hotel.
