Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum Workshops & Outreach


Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum provides a selection of downloadable workshops, creative activities and outreach-style resources that schools can use in the classroom or as enrichment activities linked to history, local heritage and traditional industry.
These resources encourage hands-on learning, creativity and independent exploration, and are suitable for use with primary-aged pupils and families.

Colour in the Tide Mill
A fun colouring activity that invites pupils to imagine what the Tide Mill might look like if it wasn’t white. Pupils can colour the illustration using their own ideas and creative choices.

Make Your Own Tide Mill
Create a paper model of the Tide Mill using printable cut-out sheets. Pupils can stick the templates onto thin card (such as a cereal box) and carefully cut out the pieces to build their own mill model.
Suitable for craft sessions and design & technology activities. Younger children should be supervised when using scissors.

An outreach-style project inviting pupils, families and community members to record memories and impressions of Woodbridge and the Tide Mill.
Participants can use a mobile phone or recording device to capture short audio recordings, which can then be shared with the museum for preservation and future research.

Based on the story of the Town Mouse and the Country Mouse, this activity includes a short fable and instructions for making an origami Tide Mill mouse. A creative way to combine storytelling, heritage and craft.
