Itinerary
Day 1: Immersive Learning at Beamish Museum
Begin your journey with a visit to Beamish Museum, where costumed demonstrators eagerly engage with students, offering insightful discussions and addressing their curious inquiries. Arrive at your accommodation in the early evening for a relaxing meal and settling in.
Day 2: Historic Treasures at Alnwick Castle and Gardens
Kick-start the day with a trip to Alnwick Castle, an iconic and historically significant British fortress. Engage in one of the many educational programs tailored for students. Following lunch, explore the enchanting Alnwick Garden for a workshop session and free time to wander. Conclude the day with an evening meal at a local restaurant near your accommodation.
Day 3: Unveiling Ancient History at Hadrian’s Wall
Venture to Hadrian’s Wall, delving into its remarkable sites, including Vindolanda Roman Fort and The Roman Army Museum. These attractions provide a close encounter with history, allowing students to immerse themselves in life at the edge of an ancient empire. After a lunch break, spend the afternoon at Housesteads Roman Fort, exploring its barrack blocks and hospital. Return to your accommodation for a leisurely dinner and relaxation.
Day 4: Enriching Experiences at Durham Cathedral
Check out from your accommodation and head to Durham Cathedral, where students can partake in a comprehensive outdoor learning program or explore the cathedral at their own pace. Later in the afternoon, commence the journey back home, carrying with you the memorable experiences and newfound knowledge gained throughout your adventure in North East England.
